I think it’s in Pete Beckmann’s “A History of Pi” that some town in Kansas or some such place passed a law saying Pi was equal to 3 or some similar nonsense.

I went to undergrad at a school in Indiana 5 years ago, and even back then the physics department had a creationist in it. The guy was even associated with the discovery institute.

When I was at Lehigh there was a biology prof who supported intelligent design. It was embarrassing, even for those of us across campus in environmental studies. I can totally see people like that forced onto departments in the name of diversity
