Making fresh pasta sheets a day ahead, then assembly on Saturday. Am I focusing on this and sharing it as a means of coping with the world falling apart? Yes.
Nothing better than making a meal everyone loves! Have you tried making Kenji's lasagna yet? I make it every Christmas. It goes sooo hard. Bolognese, bechamel, and an herbed ricotta mixture play nicely for an absolutely decadent bite. Tastes even better after a day or two!
Lasagne is one of the great joys in this world.
Making it is comforting, sharing it is comforting, people should consider making and sharing lasagne instead of attending religious services.
love this for you tbqh. the way I learned to make my Nonna's meatball & sauce recipe included a lot of red pepper, which meant when I made it for my dad and stepmom a couple years ago and he had lost his spice tolerance, she went back for 3rds while he was like "YOU PUT NAPALM IN THIS??"
Looks so good. You did good! My oldest sister had a recipe for a southwestern chicken lasagna that was so good. She passed in Nov. and I’ve been looking for that recipe ever since. I will find it. It’s a quest now.
My mom makes this all the time, preparing the traditional bolognese and bechamel from scratch without blinking an eye. She does use a good quality dried lasagna noodle, instead of fresh, but her lasagna is delicious. I'm glad yours turned out well.
I'm building one on Saturday. Gonna try a prosciutto and artichoke lasagne if I don't change my mind. Not totally sure how it will go, but honestly, the meat doesn't matter much to me. My lasagna's are just ricotta delivery systems.
