I'm old enough to remember a media that in 1992 treated the defining story of the whole RNC as being the terrifying extremism of Pat Buchanan, who was not the nominee or VP nominee but GHWB's defeated rival. And that was for a level of extremism that Trump or Vance tweet out before breakfast.

Wheelchair users are not exclusively paralyzed. There isn’t reliable data for it, but many, many of us are ambulatory (can walk sometimes, either for short periods or on good days). When you accuse someone of faking because you saw a leg move, you’re not taking into account a variety of conditions.

Here are crime rates for different groups, by immigration status. Note that the rates for undocumented immigrants are not just lower across the board; they're less than HALF the rates for citizens in every category except traffic violations.

One of the real benefits of having kids is that at least for a few years, everything that comes out of your mouth is gold so you have someone else to tell all your nerdy facts to. Bonus is if one of them has your personality and enjoys the same kinds of facts (I'm one of those lucky ones).

"Umlaut" is only used in German words to change the sound of a vowel (Ä, Ö, Ü). The proper name for the diacritic that forces a vowel to be pronounced separately from an adjacent one (e.g., coöperation or Citroën) is a diaeresis.

The Beach Boys song “Good Vibrations” did not feature a theremin. That eerie sound was produced by an “Electro-Theremin”, which was basically a knob-controlled sine oscillator. Easier to play, but a different timbre from the heterodyning oscillators of a real theremin.

It's because they want to privatize weather. They tried doing it under his last administration but many people didn't really notice beyond the weird hurricane drawing he did. It's also why they cut (or at least tried to it's been a minute since I read that stuff) a bunch of NASA Earth's funding too

As much as it works as a document of actual Trump plans something you're seeing is "Project 2025" being extremely valuable as a quick, recognizable, catch-all term that covers all of Trump's horrible policies in a easy recognizable and memorable way.
