“They want to eliminate national parks” is a very simple way to get just about anyone on the Stop Project 2025 train. Are there much more glaring and life-threatening goals of P25? Yes but even your most bigoted cousin does not want to see the parks system sold for parts.

I think the last time that Democrats hounded one of their own out of office (albeit under very different circumstances) was Senator Al Franken in 2018. How'd that work out again? (Of note, Franken was one of the most aggressive members of the Judiciary Committee in vetting Supreme Court nominees.)

I have talked with him a bunch and found him to be extremely thoughtful, measured, and cognizant of the realities of running things at this sort of scale *and* very aware of the ways Bluesky is trying to do things differently and willing to experiment. He's doing a great job.

I thought Google had a big announcement some years ago about how their datacenters were now carbon-neutral? Seems fishy.

The story is always the same: major tech companies tell us they care about the environment to silence criticism, then never actually follow through. Google’s emissions are up ~50% in 5 years, following similar news Microsoft is also blowing past its climate commitments.
