It's the next day and no one cares but I read the whole thing, and given the entire context of Choire on the internet, a.) it's obviously a bit and obviously one that won't land without context, which was the (yes, edgy) point and b.) I want to sleep for a year.

It's obviously fine to hate everyone involved! I don't care, I'm not going to argue, it's all exhausting. Choire's been doing high camp longer than the Dimes Square whatevers have been alive and seeing everything compress and foreshorten is *especially* fatiguing.

I think that's a fair reading. But I think in part I reacted the way I did because given the entire context of Olivia Nuzzi on the internet, choosing to do a bit about fascism with someone with a long history of being fash-curious is such a wretched choice

my only memory of him is seeing a bunch of people fawning over him at some reading event or other in NYC years ago (I wasn't there for his part of it); my only takeaway from his contribution to the event was that he seemed absolutely insufferable

honestly always felt like this was how it came across on social media too, a bunch of people including Choire talking about how cool Choire was but without him ever actually making a good post
