One of the great ironies of modern life is that the people who insist the strongest on educating yourself and thinking for yourself absolutely despise the institutions that best create the environment for that to occur: public schools, public libraries, funding for museums and science, etc.

Libraries are one of the most radical social institutions we have, because they’re based on the idea that *everyone* has the right to information, for free. It’s also what makes them crucial to democracy. I will never stop yelling about this!

Man I feel bad for John Means. I feel bad for Tyler Wells, too, but Means just getting back from elbow surgery and getting it again is rough.
