“…but the Nazi flag still flying outside Hitler’s house has some fearing that the Fuhrer has no plans to make the more moderate pivot that many had previously expected”
Don’t these dipshits speak in front of right wing groups all the time? The appearance of bias? THIS makes the case and not literally everything else he’s done, written, and lied about?
"If we’re viewed as illegitimate, then disregard of our decisions becomes more acceptable and more popular." Him, last year, trying to get ahead of @propublica.bsky.social story on his boondoggles.
Thomas’s wife was on the January 6 planning committee, she brought juice boxes and orange wedges for the rioters, does that make him look less impartial maybe
Also, in another bizarro NY Times "both sides now," there's this line in the article: "Four years later, some liberals advised doing the same after Mr. Trump was elected," with the word "liberals" linked to some random poster on Daily Kos.
Yes, I remember a few folks advising that in 2016. But I don’t remember hearing it from any Supreme Court justices or their families, or even government employees for that matter.
The fact that we have conservative or liberal justices is a complete disgrace to everything the judicial branch stands for. Toss every single one and require a supermajority for confirmation and penalties to all congresspersons for leaving seats vacant beyond some reasonable time limit.
I would also like a job being an expert on something ("Supreme Court judicial ethics") that is completely hypothetical and is not binding in the real world on its intended subjects (Supreme Court justices).
