An eclectic assortment of organic molecules and highly impure water in the shape of a professional rando and technomantic adept (fourth class). Unrepentently trans and queer af.
In Alaska last month we saw puffins while trying to photograph wildlife in high winds and heavy seas.
No, really. Despite all lack of evidence.
I promise.

Somehow nothing at all is in focus in this attempted shot of a Bufflehead Duck. In my defense it was waaaay past sunset & my camera said "you're kidding, right?"
Over on Twitter we called this a #WorstBirdPic#birds 🌿
There are holes in the fence
which I objected to
ever being built.
I'd love nothing more than
to see the hateful eyesore
crumble to the ground.
Why are some so intent
upon fixing it,
rebuilding it,
reinforcing it,
spending on hate and exclusion
over awareness and compassion?
Ugliness over beauty?

Due to misadventure I find myself needing to replace my venerable Manfrotto 190XDB tripod legs. I'm not fully sold on the most direct successor, the 190XPro3, which seem much heavier for not much benefit unless you pony up $100 extra for carbon fiber, which are the same weight for not much benefit.
For the remainder of #PrideMonth, my latest collection of stories is on sale!
I consider all my stories queer, whether through subtext or overtly, as they are written by a most queer individual (in every sense of that word).
$.99 gets you 18 stories & 19 illustrations!

I've been trying to drum up the motivation to start posting threads of my Alaska photos, but that makes me want to have finished organising, weeding out, and processing all my Alaska photos, and therein my inability to regulate focus fails me. I'm stuck permanently about halfway through the process.
Not sure quite how to describe watching OpenAI becoming a load-bearing source of content across every platform, but it's certainly Not Good™ in a variety of ways we haven't tried before
Reskeet with how old you are, using a vague proxy:
I was marked wrong in college for answering on a Comp 101 exam that it is possible to manually format a 720kb floppy diskette for 1.44mb, despite offering to come up and demonstrate it for the class.
(I don't RECOMMEND it, but it can be done.)

I taught my 4th grade teacher how to use WordPerfect. In DOS. While she hid behind a chair because she was scared of the computer.
trans women are still living our ancestral roles of apothecaries (barista, budtender) witches (programmer) and soothsayers (posters, noise musicians) the problem is our career paths are being ground to dust by capital instead of being lavished as they should be. in this essay i will,

It is one of my goals in life to be the sort of person who is more ready with a kind word than a sharp one.
I’m not always good at that. Sometimes I am! Often not.
I’ll continue working hard to be better.

The winner, Lauren Ashley Simmons, is LGBTQ herself, and a labor organizer. t.co/ZX0mWK3xuv

This is not a great picture but it is a great bird. American (black-billed) magpie spotted at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center in Portage, AK on Monday. New lifer for me. #birds
Seen today: Humpback whale, harbor seals, mountain goats, sea lions, bald eagle, pigeon guillemots, both horned and tufted puffins, murres, every frickin seagull ever, and yes… we did see orcas.
No photos yet. Maybe in the next few days, maybe not til after I get back home.
