When one of the kids took more than their fair share of some snack or treat my mom used to say, “don’t be a greed box.” I have never heard that term from anybody else. Is that exclusive to my mom? Has anybody else ever heard that?

Savage Dragon is one of the few brightspots on my reading list and one of the best comics out there! Thank you Erik!

As a side note, this is John McEntee, Trump's Director of White House Personnel and the primary architect of Project 2025. On Tik Tok he said he gives counterfeit bills to homeless people so they will be arrested when they go to spend them.

Savage Dragon #271 went on sale today--or not--depending on which distributer your local store uses. Lunar is Image's primary distributer and they got books into stores today. Diamond buys Image books from Lunar and those copies will be in stores next week.

I really cannot emphasize how catastrophically bad the Court's ruling was. I do my best not to exaggerate about these kinds of things but I am still kind of in shock

Absolutely wild that the court accuses the dissent of "fearmongering" with "extreme hypotheticals" when the actual basis for the indictment is a coup attempt that led to an attack on the capitol

Michael T. Gilbert shared Alex Niño's three stabs at a Captain Fear splash page on Facebook. Alex went with the third one but it's interesting to see his thought process here. All are wildly different. I would have been thrilled to have composed any one of these.

So when the Hulk goes toe-to-toe with the Abomination THIS is what they’re referring to.

That one was wild.
My favorite Ignored Marvel Story is the one where Dr. Don Blake builds a fully-functional android. Because he's a doctor! He can do that stuff!

Yeah--this. I get a lot of these as well. But mostly they're terrible and I don't want to have to tell people that they're terrible. Giving critiques is a thankless task.
I mean no offense, but I try not to read other writers' unpublished ideas. I don't want to be influenced by them, for legal reasons. But I expect it's fun.

I have a love/hate relationship with Neal’s work. Sometimes it’s super effective and sometimes it is really trying too hard to be clever or characters flail about looking somewhat broken. This, to me, is more strange looking than clever.

Okay--I have Savage Dragon 271 comps and at the risk of the most banal spoiler possible--the printing in my copies with the red cover have numerous pages where the Cyan plate was way too oversaturated. Here's an example (and there are plenty of others but I don't want to post anything TOO spoilery).

I hate that strip. Not BEN CASEY overall, which is well-drawn and stupidly-written, like many story strips of the day, but the Big Face That Involves A Nose-Shaped Lamp Thing That We Colored Flesh Tone Because What the Hell is so insanely disruptive. Tell the story, Neal. Don't get in its way.

...without that reader scurrying to Wikipedia, then something has gone wrong. Whether you love continuity-heavy stuff or hate it, the comic should not need outside reading to understand and enjoy it. It might be even better if you're familiar with past continuity. But it shouldn't be necessary.

I'll add to this that the discussion immediately focus on writers, but my intent had been to say that if you're a reader and you feel there's a "burden of continuity" then someone making the book (usually writer or editor) is doing it wrong. If you can't make the comic accessible to a new reader...

Saw someone talking about “the burden of continuity” on another site. My view of that is: If dealing with continuity is a burden, then someone working on the book is doing it wrong.
