My TikTok app willl show me a bunch of people who liked or commented, but then they will also send a single email that just says, "Crumb_Lord likes your video." Why did Crumb_Lord's like get singled out for me? Does his influence with the crumbs push his activity to the "must email" level?
Happy Fourth to everyone trying to make this country more livable, from those fighting unjust laws and judges, all the way to sheltering people and bringing meals to neighbors. And to those trying to make this country less toxic to other countries. Thanks for keeping on.
Not to be corny but I do think the ongoing aspiration to make America a pluralist democracy of equals is righteous, beautiful, and worth honoring, even if it has more often been the struggle of minorities & dissenters than the policy of the government. 🇺🇸
An irritating saga in five acts and counting!
Act 1
Me: Hi, Safeway live chat, our groceries aren't here yet and it's past the delivery time.
Safeway: I'll let the store know!
I have made an important discovery: many of the cat names from Cats are excellent alternative swear words. Particularly Munkustrap, Skimbleshanks, and Bombalurina.

Just finished All of Us Strangers. Between that and Aftersun, it appears Paul Mescal is really cornering the market on "2020s movies that tear Hannah's heart out and grind it up into tiny broken bits in a way that is the best but also obviously devastating."
The correct response to Chevron being overturned is for every single environmental group to start filing millions of lawsuits, right now, today, arguing that various regulatory decisions didn't go far enough.
Absolutely flood the zone.
Even if you think this protest was fine in theory, you need to acknowledge that it did, in fact, turn violent and antisemitic. People yelled at Jews to go back to Poland, or to die in an intifada. However grand you think the idea was, it went badly wrong, & doesn’t deserve defending. 3/3
Counterpoint: Swamp Thing once wore John Constantine like a reverse condom in order to knock his wife up since hallucinogenic sex yams can't get you pregnant

Elon Musk wanted the Cybertruck to have a futuristic, movie-based-on-Philip-K.-Dick-story vibe.
And sure, it’s no Blade Runner.
But what we’re looking at *is* a Total Recall.
The Cybertruck was released on Nov. 30. Today, Tesla announced it was recalling the vehicle for the fourth time, an impressive rough average of one recall every seven weeks. apnews.com/article/tesl...
I'm reading through all my Kindle books in alphabetical order, and I'm at all the "Complete Works of" collections. I just finished Euripedes. It's been much faster going than I anticipated, maybe I'll finish this section this year...
*opens up the new one*
Oh.
Yeah, I'll be here awhile.
Karen Bass just announced that LA is looking into a mask ban and it is a move that would essentially ban me from public life. I am humbly asking, if you are an LA resident, please call the mayors office and tell them about what it would do to those of us who have no choice but to mask for health.
The challenge is to choose 20 books that greatly influenced you. One book per day, for 20 days. No explanations, no reviews, just covers. 📚💙
Day Three.
As with all of this--it hits people of color the hardest.
I'm strongly urging everyone *and white folks especially* in LA to speak out against any possible mask bans.
It's a moral imperative we use our privilege to help keep everyone safe who wants to wear a mask in public.
It took awhile, but now we have a second visitor in our Bird Buddy collection. We had a whole group of house finches hopping in and out of our feeders today!
