ChatGPT already has “Ph.D.-level intelligence,” in that once you remove it from its extremely narrow field of expertise (assembling words into credible-sounding passages) it is wildly out of its depth, but people vastly overestimate its authority because they don’t understand what “intelligence” is.

Spending the day telling everyone who comes into the library that you can't actually help them really sucks. Fortunately IT fixed the issue after a few hours instead of a couple of days this time. #librarywork

It is so hard to write a good fairie tale in the modern age. The simplicity and cruelty needed to portray the fae are often really difficult to hold on to without falling into either irony or twee magical realism. This book is beautiful and hard. I highly recommend it.
