deadly serious, if you can convince small business owners that the republicans intend to pass a law that tells them they *cannot* operate on sunday, the party implodes *overfuckingnight*
And I'm sure their interest in "a healthier cadence of life... especially for low-income workers" extends beyond Sunday, right? Like, they'll go to bat for limited weekly hours and mandatory vacation time, right? Right??
Oh, what’s next 6 month paternal leave and 1 year maternal leave? (It should be yes, but these aren’t the folks that want to be caught holding the bag for it)
I grew up in Bergen county, nj and Sundays were blue or something.
Cheap meat at grocery was the only thing you could purchase.
Not even alcohol to wash it down 😠
All the best people.
And isn't it funny how they very specifically want to enshrine the Christian Sabbath and only that, while hiding behind the umbrella of "Judeo-Christian."
Trouble is that the Sabbath is Saturday. Sunday is the Lord's Day. Christians dropped the Sabbath requirement when they got away from the law of the OT. Jews still recognize the Sabbath. I think it starts Friday evening. Correct me if I'm wrong.
It's even worse when you know that the Sabbath is -Saturday- and not Sunday. (I've argued this all of my life and it pains me how many people do not know this basic fact.)
