A big part of the problem? "Moderates" refuse to explicitly diagnose the problem. Shareholder value fundamentalism & regulatory capture & monopoly control for starters. So then the public get a weak diagnosis ("greedy bosses") or false one (DEI) which either leads nowhere or is plain disinfo.

Indeed! Perhaps it's easier to feel morally superior than to think systematically? Yes, investors/CEOs are greedy. But they've always been so. The question is why has this become so problematic NOW? Since everyone is (at least a little bit) greedy, this diagnosis doesn't help guide useful policy.

I don't recall reading that correctly installed plugs were removed, then reinstalled without the 4 bolts and seal that were on the floor.
