It’s insane to me that Republicans still get to be like “we are strong on defense” when all they’ve done my entire life is play very dangerous politics - whether it was Iran/Contra, ignoring the warnings about 9/11, lying about WMDs, torturing people, outing CIA assets that displeased them, or this.

It is somehow better or more comforting that such a large percentage of Americans don't care about minorities or democracy being threatened so they simply don't vote? I never understand what the point is of pointing this out. We all know a lot of Americans don't vote but also don't care.
