You know what's a good movie? The Dungeons and Dragons movie. Not just better than expected, but actually really good. AND it has a platonic love story between the two leads. Gosh I hope we get an only-loosely-related sequel.

This has been true since the 90s at least. I was, shall we say, not wise with money when I was younger and the best help I got was from the IRS to get it all straightened out in the late Oughts.

I will say, though, that the actual IRS has gotten significantly better in the last 20 years or so: there was a real internal reform starting in the late 90s and now I consistently find them the most clear and helpful federal agency by a long shot.

Stephen Miller is back in the news and folks love to compare him to vampires and lizards/lizard people and just a reminder those are both really insidious, long standing antisemitic tropes. That man is extremely evil there are lots of other ways we can criticize him without doing antisemitism.

Hey so just FYI, there's an antisemitic connection between Jews and vampires (that invokes blood libel - the idea that Jews drink the blood of babies) and even though Miller is a disgusting evil piece of shit it's best to refrain from saying a jew is a vampire.

Everyone knows that the 'Lizard People' conspiracy theory is just the furry (scaly?) version of antisemitism, right? The Lizard People Who Control The World is just another dehumanizing-Jews whistle.

I missed this the first time around but I cannot think of a more succinct definition of my ideal worldview than this.
