Canada explicitly will not let disabled people immigrate. Even if you're financially set. Even if you're married to someone with a Canadian job offer in hand and the ability to immigrate. Because you'll be a "drain on the healthcare system's resources".

I think it's worth stating explicitly that the lack of an escape route for Disabled people is real. No country wants Disabled immigrants who can't do gainful employment. Zero countries are putting their hands up like "Yes, come put more burden on our social safety nets here!"

UBI saves boatloads of public money. That should motivate certain types of people. But it’s also kind. Which fills those same people with a straight up berserker rage.
