everyday a british columinst proudly writes something as or more inflammatory than any of the stuff that was popularly attributed to the french nobles that all got their heads cut off
this was very deliberately phrased to avoid a dumb argument over the provenance of "let them eat cake" in my mentions. if you insist on driving through that red light you will be blocked
What's so admirable about these people is their ability to quantify an economic argument without the slightest incentive to do any research into actual conditions.
And here's where I get to talk about how so economics used to be based on the hypothetical Econ, a being of pure financial logic, and how behavioral economics is this new thing. But as usual the econ was just a cover and a scapegoat.
This is the well-honed strategy of right-wing British papers with paywalls. It is the equivalent of dumping just enough raw sewage into rivers to make normal people sick while being able to charge the people who dine on raw sewage.
But if we started beheading British journalists for saying incredibly vapid things, who would do the important work of being racist to Meghan Markle and platforming anti-trans voices?
I know at least one writer and two names who’d rise up to the occasion; even though it’s a bit sus cause she referred to her dog with they:them pronouns recently
Are they assuming you’d do 2 jobs to earn more money? Or get paid overtime? Because how are they going to earn more money in the job they have just by working harder?
3; don’t be silly. With all those hours working you only need the square footage of a bed. “But why do they all eat out? They would surely be less poor if they just cooked”
Sure, opposing the death penalty is good and worthy.
Holding a revolution where we line up people like that and remove them from society? Those are some very different circumstances.
Yeah, tell me more about how it worked here in france. Oh yeah it starded with opponents being killed and ended with napoleon mass murdering millions of ppl.
So efficient, right?
Is "work-shy" not a term in the US/Canada? I wouldn't say it's an every day word in the UK, but it's definitely a term I've read and heard in speech from time to time (usually by grumpy old people like this guy seems to be).
