ChatGPT out of nowhere started speaking complete gibberish on Tuesday. Multiple users reporting bizarre non-sensical answers. If the biggest AI product can shit the bed like this, how can we reliably trust them in more important situations www.404media.co/chatgpt-star...
It's fine (not really) if they want their phone trees to say "overgrown is overgrown" whenever you call for customer service, but they want to put this malignant garbage into medical care, electricity grids, cars and trucks, and military weapons.
You misreported OpenAI's status message. They only say they are working on fixing it ("is being remediated"), not that they fixed it. Users reported gibberish after that status message posted yesterday and are still reporting gibberish in the past few hours.
OpenAI says ChatGPT's back to its normal hallucinating.
How would OpenAI know when ChatGPT's hallucinations stray outside whatever OpenAI considers "normal" operations unless a user alerts them?
Did they fix their QA that allowed hours of abnormal operation?
Who watches/validates the automatons?
We cannot. Even with ChatGPT 3.5 people were asking it how to change a tire, and similar things with possible real-life consequences. It's just infuriatingly stupid to use anything these tools put out without human (and possibly expert) quality control.
Is there a change from the 4x overgrown, 1x Overhrown pattern if you let it continue?
Maybe there's a Morse code message from the person in the Chess robot, "plz h4lp im trapd in ai fact0ry"
The whole damn database needs to be destroyed.. it uses too much power, steals too much intellectual property, drinks too much water, and coughs out NOTHING in return.
See, feeding the beast the collected printed works of humanity eventually led them to e.e. cummings and James Joyce, but when they hit Dadaist sound poetry the metaphoric shit hit the virtual cooling fan.
You can't, it's not proper A.I. so it'll always fail with this.
This bubble will not only burst but it will leave the universe.
Time for you techb's to move onto something else before you lose a lot of money.
one wonders is enough "content" on the webs now is"A.I." generated bullsh!t, that's it's started scraping *that* and has ended up, ahem , "hufffing it's own farts" as it were...
