He's an awful person. The urgency witch which he needs to either be indicted or defeated can not be overstated.
Mayor Eric Adams, asked by a reporter about the lack of air conditioning at migrant shelters during a heat wave, says, "Every day New Yorkers don't have air conditioners. We make do." He recommends paper fans and says his mom told him to put his head in the refrigerator. —Emma G. Fitzsimmons, NYT

It's weird that "Trump isn't picking his old vice president to be his running mate" isn't a news story at all. Wait until you hear what happened!

The Constitutional Crisis is already here. You are living inside it. No way back, for better or worse. Either fight to win the future or concede to fascist tyranny taking over our country, the world's largest economy and mightiest military.

idk what the right thing to do is but it's pretty telling to me that the people in politics who I respect like AOC and Bernie are saying "we gotta make sure the leaky rowboat doesn't sink" and the people drilling holes in the bottom are like, Scott Peters
Like my feeling since Biden wrapped up the nomination has been that Biden is a leaky rowboat we've all been crammed into, and while being on a leaky rowboat sucks I'm rooting for it not to sink and annoyed at the other people on the boat who are seemingly determined to drill more holes in it.

If Biden said something like this it would spell the end of not only his campaign but his current tenure. It's just one of countless examples of insane gibberish from Trump that the press & Democrats are choosing to treat as an immutable part of the electoral landscape rather than a story or issue.

The only two permutations of this that work are: 1) Biden stays in 2) Biden steps aside for Harris but remains in office Everything other permutation of this idea is either a fantasy or propaganda whose discussion is designed to get the Dems to lose the election and usher Trump into power.

seems newsworthy, can’t wait to hear about it showing up in paragraph 47 of another piece about how biden is old

In any sane world this would be much bigger news than last night's debate.
BREAKING: The Supreme Court overrules Chevron on a 6-3 ideological vote.

One pretty ironclad prediction about the debate is that they will grill Biden for a promise that he will not pardon or commute his Hunter's sentence (which he's already basically given) and ask no questions about Trump's dozens of corrupt pardons, including of co-conspirators in his own crimes

When people contrive an "it's unfair to make [person doing a thing not particularly practical without a car] pay a congestion price," they're usually missing the point that the price isn't punishment for driving; it's a contribution to the transit system without which driving would be impossible
Just gonna put this out there that I don’t know a single serious urbanist who believes in a “no cars at all” position and it’s rather exhausting to see smart people bring up this straw man. Asking drivers to pay for the negative externalities they cause does not equal “ban cars.”

Studies repeatedly show that congestion pricing's popularity is lowest *right before it gets implemented,* recovering and quickly becoming popular once citizens start to see the benefits of it, so of course NY Dems are committed to staying in that "almost implemented" period as long as possible

Every small city in North America has two tall buildings: The first is a 1910s Main Street bank building that has not been fully leased since the day it opened. The second is a 1970s brutalist tower that houses 40 percent of the senior population of the city.
End of feed.
