Speaking as a frog I love to sit in a pot of nice warm water with all my friends. Ooh bubbles it must be a jacuzzi.

His argument makes sense if you're a huge dummy who doesn't understand that most SCOTUS cases are dense legal issues that don't have political implications while other cases have massive political ramifications, and it's the latter where the partisan split constantly appears.

Hard to believe that somebody paid to not know obvious things has managed to not know them.

This kind of argument also usually doesn’t account for the fact that which cases they are hearing in the first place is by choice, so it’s not as if they are hearing a random sample of all disputes.

Can't believe this ultra-technical ERISA case isn't partisan.

And also if you don't realize that almost all of the partisan cases involve Justice Roberts sitting up until 3 a.m. the morning before final votes with a half empty fifth looking like the guy from the "two buttons" meme as he ponders institutional legacy vs. his pre-bench career arc as a hack.

Also it seems pretty obvious the 3 vote advantage allows them to take turns cosplaying as objective.

The idea that shared ideology only exists if there are no points of difference at all is an incredibly frustrating failure of set theory.

Ahh Jeff Jacoby, conservative nonce of the Boston globe lo these past 30 years. Got to have someone launder right wing nonsense into sensible centrism!

There are now four versions of bros on the Court. Corporate Bro Covert Bro Keg Stand Bro Crazy Bro

There was a short-lived comic strip some decades back that tried to be the rightwing equivalent of, I dunno, Bloom County maybe? I think the Globe must've picked it up for "balance", but it was pretty stupid and didn't last long. Jacoby is same, but somehow is still around.

OMG it still exists. "Mallard Fillmore" 🙄🥱. I guess there must be such a shortage of rightwing humor that there's a market for it, however tedious.

Fuck that guy. The relative 'few' that are, are the ones that are destroying people's lives. Not all Supreme Court cases are created equal, and this mendacious twat is trying to flatten the terrain.

typical Jeff Jacoby nonsense

I don’t know who that is, but he seems simpleminded.

Jacoby has been the token Right Wing voice in the Boston Globe op-ed pages for decades.

Go tell him his kid ran off to the M&M store in Times Square again

The fact he labels the justices as liberal or conservative is admitting they have personal biases.
