The level of anxiety I have as someone who studied the social history of the 1930s for my college degree is very intense.

I thought I couldn't hate any knowledge more than my index of "Jared Leto Asshole moments" and then I replaced it with knowledge about the foibles of Congress.

I want people to know that one reason I left io9 for EFF was that everything was on fire in this country and I wanted to use whatever skills I had to help. So whatever I say, the thing about this job is that I no longer stay up all night wondering what more I could have done.

All of my jobs have involved deeply angering politicians and giant companies and they truly don't understand how little they can hurt me. I used to write about science fiction on the internet as a woman.
