TBH, less efficient at those things than media.

I want people to know that one reason I left io9 for EFF was that everything was on fire in this country and I wanted to use whatever skills I had to help. So whatever I say, the thing about this job is that I no longer stay up all night wondering what more I could have done.

No, I do not recommend either journalism or nonprofit activism work. Like it IS spiteful but also frustrating and requires keeping up to date on politicians and companies to a degree that is just depressing.

It's honestly deeply funny that they think calling me a stooge will make me upset.

All of my jobs have involved deeply angering politicians and giant companies and they truly don't understand how little they can hurt me. I used to write about science fiction on the internet as a woman.

The copyright maximalists try ad hominem attacks and it's just.. cute. I used to get death threats.

This was my view on the train and I agree.

My all-time favorite example was every single article about Star Wars: Rogue One they did. There was an absolute brain melter titled “How ‘Rogue One’ Backs Up The Founders’ Approach To Slavery”
