The main answer to that question is, surprisingly, because it does

like can we talk about the irony of the clockiest cis woman in history being mad about GRS/FFS
Avatar
They do realize FFS isnt just for trans people, they can get cosmetic surgery as well

“ma’am you don’t have to be mad about your horse face, the dolls have verified the technology works like magic”

(their articles really do all read like tantrums that have been filtered through a thesaurus)

genuinely reads like a threat, fucking terrifying

We are way over quota on both Pamela Paul bullshit and anti-trans crusading. Way way over.

This made my day. Thank you, I needed that laugh, badly.

I went and read the article and it's about as vapid and dishonest as the Cass Review it spends most of its time lionizing.

Who should we trust about judging an entire population and their medical outcomes, the nepo journalist and Bret Stephens divorcee, or the Cleveland Clinic and heaps upon heaps of scientific studies? my.clevelandclinic.org/health/proce...

are they talking about erectile dysfunction treatments or no

we also gonna talk to men with low t on testosterone? 🤔🤔🤔
Ignoring the American Medical Association & medical research, the @nytimes.com FEELS like it doesn't work.
Avatar
Umm because I've seen it work, you absolute piece of shit.

Avatar
Also, why is the US (well, the NYT) still pretending the opinion of someone foolish enough to marry Brett Stephens is worth hearing?

Why Is The New York Times Pretending Pamela Paul Knows Anything?

Why is the US Still Pretending We Know Appendectomies Work?
Avatar
Data on this is even more overwhelming than appendectomies, with a smaller percentage (less than 1%) regretting than almost any other kind of surgery ("For example, studies have found that between 5% and 14% of all women who receive mastectomies to reduce the risk of developing breast cancer")
Transgender regret? Research challenges narratives about gender-affirming surgeriestheconversation.com The findings push back against the notion that many transgender people end up wishing they hadn’t gone through with gender-affirming surgeries.

Ultimately, why are we pretending that nurture and compassion for the young are good things?

Who says studying leads to higher test scores? Stop the lies!

Didn’t NYT pull some weird transphobic shit last year as well? I remember a bunch of the writing staff even having to step up and write in an open letter “Hey, the attitudes and articles coming outta NYT are transphobic”.
Avatar
They have been doing this fairly regularly for years.
Avatar
Lmao. It never stopped. They constantly publish transphobia. It's honestly worse than fox news. Atleast fox news knows how to be overt and crazy about it. NYT still love to pretend they're a legitimate source.
Avatar
I have never heard of this chick so I looked her up on Wikipedia. Shockingly, I don't believe her first marriage to Bret "Bedbug" Stephens or her book, "The Starter Marriage and the Future of Matrimony," qualifies her to know a goddamn thing about transgender healthcare.
Avatar
Avatar
It's just absolute journalistic malpractice to let this column run without having at least a counterpoint right next to it.
Avatar
why is pamela paul safe at home or in public
Avatar
hmmm i wish you could just talk to someone who had an answer to that question. like a trans person late in their transition :/ too bad
Avatar
Who am I supposed to believe, her deliberately misleadingly written oped, or every trans person I’ve met or interacted with?
Avatar
it is almost as if most of the people who detransition do it out of fear of being targeted or societal pressures and not because “they were indoctrinated into a queer ideology”
Avatar
I was indoctrinated into a queer ideology (it made me love myself)
Avatar
I was too (I am no longer suicidal from dismorphia)
Avatar
The detrans in the spotlight seems like a money grift to me. I'm sure some people do it for legitimate reasons, I just never seen that and have "not nice" theories on why this is happening. The collateral is us as trans people for their path as individuals cuz they didn't get everything they wanted.
Avatar
Because all of the peer reviewed information we have says that gender affirming care saves lives. Annecdotally I have witnessed gender affirming care save people in my family. I would rather have a new brother than a dead sister.
Avatar
Why is the NYT still pretending Pamela Paul works?
Avatar
"Why are newspapers peddling nonsense by someone named Pamela Paul?"
Avatar
It’s a corollary to Beteridge’s Law of Headlines. In this case, rather than answering the header question with a simple “no,” the answer is “it’s not.”
Avatar
Everybody needs to stop supporting NYT. They have fully signed on to the genocide of trans people. There is no excuse for giving them money or attention.
Every day, I read news that causes me to think “the only reasonable action is for someone to kill this person”, and then have to continue with my day knowing that their life is only going to improve as they continue to harm people.
Avatar
How a major news source is able to post opinion pieces that are factually incorrect shows how useless they are becoming.
Avatar
Panels is a Soulless Parasite.
Avatar
"Why are medical associations not beholden to what I, as an individual, think should happen?"
Avatar
That's ok you guys, the NYT is totally on trans people's side! Y'know, when they're not actively promoting the people driving the policies they claim to abhor bsky.app/profile/jbou...
