This is a good piece and I have been thinking about this since the Supreme Court's decision on gerrymandering in 2019.
In general, if people can vote out politicians that enact policies that don't have popular support, that's what they do. Violence happens when elections really don't matter.
Over on Twitter, Deena Winter is back with more details. I had wondered if someone dropped off a package with a note, but no, the person who brought the money straight up TOLD THE FATHER IN LAW that this was intended as a bribe.
The Edgar statuette's base is made of the same material as the bust. It's easy to grip and the base is pretty heavy.
Also, you'd be doing your murder with the award given for stories about murders!
You know, looking at the info on the RtV page made me realize that I could probably donate some stuff despite not being a romance writer? I have this enormous collection of tiny unique hand embroideries of landscapes, I could donate ... a bunch?
One of the (many) things I loved about Paris were the Wallace Fountains, which are beautiful and perfectly set up for water bottle refills (less ideal for drinking straight from the tap -- originally they had cups chained to them, but over time people realized that was unhygienic.)
I have a bag of teeny tiny rhinestones, a bottle of epoxy with a teeny tiny applicator, and a piece of heirloom costume jewelry that will look better with the addition of nine tiny rhinestones.
Advice and/or pep talks welcome 😂
When this went around last week they "fixed" it so that instead of telling you that you could fire employees for various illegal reasons, it said that you could not fire employees for punching customers.
They fixed it again:
"No, you see, you used to sit down at the computer and type ATDT and a number and it would go mrp mrp mrp mrp mrp mrp mrp CHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH and then you'd see something like THE BISTRO but in ASCII art text."
OK, for #ThingThursday I would like to show you my Mysterious Inherited Jewelry Item. I have written multiple stories in which someone inherits a mysterious piece of jewelry, and I was sort of amused to realize I had an item that qualified. This is a ring found with my Grammie's stuff.
For this #ThingThursday I would like to show the collection of campaign buttons that I inherited from my in-laws. Some of the really old ones may be fakes—I have no idea.

There's a meme that originated on Tumblr and thoroughly made the rounds a while back that SOMEONE TO BUILD A NEST IN made me think of repeatedly:

Dug out a photo of me, my sister, and a neighbor kid having a picnic on the tailgate of my grandparents' RV. That's me in the stripes. You can see a camp cot further inside.
