"“I can’t wait to be sued,” Mr. Landry said on Saturday at a Republican fund-raiser in Nashville, according to The Tennessean. And on Wednesday, as he signed the measure, he argued that the Ten Commandments contained valuable lessons for students."

“If you want to respect the rule of law,” [Governor Landry] said, “you’ve got to start from the original law giver, which was Moses.”

Not even historically correct! The code of Hammurabi is right there and is just the earliest we’ve found!

Code of Ur-Nammu over here like "Hey!"

Pffft. Hamnurabi or bust! If we aren't teaching children to take flesh for flesh, what are we even teaching?!

If they won't commit to put several hundred pounds of basalt in each classroom, they are not really serious

Ahem. Ur-Nammu would like a word.

As I remember the Moses story he was a law transmitter, not a law giver; the laws were supposed to be coming direct from the almighty, via Moses. If Landry is making Moses a law giver instead, then a few thousand years of Abrahamic tradition are a scam. Also: other, older law givers are available.

And Moses, having one of those days, smashed one set of tablets, didn't he? Who knows what we're missing because of that? We may have been enforcing the wrong version of Pass Interference penalties all this time, and that's why everything's messed up.

He just wants to make peace with Osama: "You are the nation who, rather than ruling by the Shariah of Allah in its Constitution and Laws, choose to invent your own laws as you will and desire." (Osama bin Laden, Letter to the American People, 2002) No more laws made up by the people & their reps!

So, Donald Trump must be stoned to death for breaking…all of the commandments?

Oh you don’t wanna play that game Landry
