Probably on account of the fact that before being an airline pilot, you need to do 1500 total hours in airplanes for odd jobs that have less well maintained planes on average

More lethal crashes than there are dying cops. Hell, someone at my flight school died in a crash last year. It's a lurking beast you gotta be aware of and on guard against in this industry.
These numbers appear to be off by 100%. E.g. the fatal injury rate of 70 per 100k for logging workers is 583% of the 12 per 100k listed for cops, but that's only 483% *more*.
Also not sure how you arrived at 108% (or even 8%) more for landscape supervisors, who the source also lists at 12 per 100k?
