Ooh. We do have some and that would be amazing, but we live in a complex and are trying not to feed them. I'm worried if they become a nuisance someone may call property management and I don't want anything bad to happen to them. Also I'm positive others are feeding them.
Adorable and these guys look healthy but the ball is potentially contaminated by their saliva which can be a rabies vector. Don't handle it barehanded anymore.
Thank you! Even though raccoons don't typically have rabies out here I'm still being super careful and we don't have any pets that would play with the balls or anything.
Rabies is a relatively fragile virus, so it should be inert once it’s dried out.
That being said, I would not personally tempt fate by reusing it, and I say that as someone who’s had their pre-exposure vaccines.
Oh my squeeee! So cute! We grew up with raccoons in the house (rednecks 🤪) and they LOVE to play with the enthusiasm of happy toddlers. I wish they could giggle.
