Yup. Actually it was back in my punk rock days. Unlike most of my punk friends, I read up on what that circled "A" meant. My dalliance with the Libertarian Party was the result. "They really and truly want a no gods, no masters society," were my thoughts at the time.

However, after a couple of LP-San Fernando Valley meetings, I realized they had been thoroughly co-opted by the Republicans. There really wasn't a dime's worth of difference between their policies and Reagan's. As a registered Libertarian, I couldn't vote in primaries except for LP candidates.

Anyway, I re-registered as a Democrat, and held my nose to vote for Dukakis.The LP truly is a haven for people who got theirs, who want to not be taxed, and be able to smoke weed and do blow legally. That's it.
