Rule of law is severely underrated. You’ve lived with it for so long you take it for granted. It’s partially gone already, and if it fully goes—if a criminal and putschist gains executive power with the blessing of corrupt judges—you will seriously miss it. Once gone, it’s very hard to get back.

Not particularly looking forward to the Right’s half-smirking half-mock-weepy “look what you forced us to do” routine coming up.

Could just report on the conflicting fact from what you reported instead of expressing irritation at your audience for pointing out the disparity.

Biden: pro-NATO, anti-Putin Trump: anti-NATO, pro-Putin It's the starkest and most consequential US foreign policy election in decades, perhaps ever, with America's role as lynchpin of the post-WWII and post-Cold War order effectively on the ballot. And it's barely a factor in the race.

Honestly, wondering if Pelosi was having her own senior moment. She kept saying he needs to decide soon as if she was completely unaware of the letter he put out earlier this week. She was a bellwether for me too, but what to make of her vague statements whose interpretation she later disputed?

I keep seeing the accusations that this is an echo chamber and if we just went to Twitter we’d see was the “real” discourse is. But Bluesky seems split on this issue, while Threads seems even more pro Biden than here. I think the fragmentation of microblogging is distorting people’s gauge.

Ah yes, thank you. Had a hard time mentally processing the data over the axes. In any event I’m not sure what issue would motivate low propensity Trump voters to turn out in 2024 in record numbers.

Every day proves Thaddeus Stevens right: there should've been big Nuremberg-style public trials of leading Confederates, accompanied by seizures of the assets of all pro-Confederate large landowners and businessmen, which should then have been distributed to freed slaves as compensation.
These guys are traitors to the republic just like their heroes Jefferson Davis and Robert E. Lee

This poll has 50% of respondents that selected Trump saying they did not vote in 2020. I wonder how many of them don’t plan to vote in 2024 either.

I agree Hillary would’ve beaten Biden, but I’ve heard a persuasive argument that a Clinton-Biden primary face off would’ve took the oxygen out of the Bernie candidacy and probably let Clinton come into the general in a stronger position.

The kindest people have often known the most heartache. Kindness is not a weakness. It takes a strong heart to keep steady. Time and again, I have seen the beauty in it. The power in it. There is something holy about it.

This kind of argument is not compatible with her contention that CP is merely paused. I’m genuinely confused by her communications.

It’s too bad the Camden Line MARC isn’t useable, it would make it much easier to get out of the city from that area.
