Pennsylvanians loyally vote for Bob Casey, including the current Senator, his Dad the two term governor, and some other random guy named Bob Casey who was elected Pennsylvania Treasurer.

They get in amazingly loud, high-pitched, arguments with one another in trees, which is quite the thing to hear through your window.

I was signed up for a Democratic Party Voter Protection training event this afternoon, and it was canceled "due to the incidents at Trump's rally." I'm shocked. We should not be canceling preparations for a peaceful and lawful election in the wake of violence.

An appropriate response would be to pause all sales and manufacture of firearms and ammunition while we reflect on the dangers of gun violence to our democracy.

I have a common name. The people who were most often confused were divorce lawyers who would direct angry letters and phone calls my way when they were looking for a lawyer who managed properties that were tied up in divorce priceedings.

Phoenix New Times: "21 of the city's top 25 earners in 2023 worked for Phoenix police. Of the 316 city employees who made more than $200,000 last year, ...225 of them worked for the police department. They include senior police leadership... a mix of lieutenants, sergeants and rank-and-file...."

Lifetime caps: some insurers would say that once a person had run up a (lifetime) bill of $2M or so, they were no longer insurable, kicked forever to Medicaid and Medicare. NICU nurses told me abt pre-ACA kids who would hit their lifetime cap before their first breath of fresh air.

Folks, I may have a PhD in history-including US politics history-but the last several years I’ve been working in public health as a science writer. One of my areas of focus is Aging, including Alzheimer’s and related dementias (AD/RD). I find the discourse around Biden really troubling.

Yeah, it seems like the Rs pick a lot of weirdos that not even Trump voters like

It cannot be stressed enough that adjusting the size of the Supreme Court in the 19th c. was a serious solution to serious concerns about how the Court functioned. As @earlymodjustice.bsky.social points out, reform often addressed imbalances. And these imbalances were often about REPRESENTATION. 1/
Seven times between 1801 and 1869 Congress changed the size of the court, going from a low of five justices in 1801 to a high of ten in 1863. In most of those cases, as in 1801 and 1863, the size went up and down in order to fix an imbalance or overreach by the Supreme Court. My latest
The Case for Expanding the Supreme Court Has Never Been Strongernewrepublic.com Biden has repeatedly refused to endorse “court-packing.” The right-wing justices’ ruling on presidential immunity ought to change his mind.

Ford fought off Reagan in 1976, though he did have to kick Rockefeller off the ticket. Nothing welcoming about that.

The original VJ's are hosting on Sirius XM today. It's a strong brand for a certain demographic, and it should've been possible to keep leveraging that goodwill.

Are students still required to provide an Honor Code certification with their papers? If so, would ChatGpt be receiving assistance? Or is human assistance implicit?

The attack ads I've seen so far combine inflation and dementia. Even though inflation is way back down, the fact that prices are well up since 2020 is a vulnerability.

I've been knocking on doors for Biden, and signed up for the Democratic Voter Protection program, which are a whole lot more effective than trading in self-indulgent fantasies about a change in the ticket.

And I don't think Biden should call Yellen into his office and demand that she freeze every bank account of Trump, his campaign, his lawyers, his PACs and the RNC while a thorough investigation for money laundering or campaign finance violations is carried out, but now he can.

The delegates have been looking forward to partying in Chicago and just maybe expecting them to collectively do something as consequential as picking the nominee is unrealistic.

Well I went for my run earlier, in cooler temperatures and 92% relative humidity, so I got to think about whether I was going to start making it rain by jostling the water vapor-clogged air.

You know what's crazy is you could easily write a historically compelling op-ed about how Trump should end his campaign because he's a convicted criminal who tried to overthrow the government and is only on the ballot/out of prison because of extremely corrupt judges he personally appointed
