I don’t know how to explain to our nation’s top editorial boards that the Democratic Party is an actual organization with a lot of rules and history to it, not just a store that distributes team jerseys, and it has already selected delegates to its nominating convention.

Cannot emphasize enough how pathetic these editorial boards are revealing themselves to be.

People are very unhappy with most incumbents in major democracies. It will do us no good in the end if they lose, but Biden-Harris are in relatively good shape in comparison.

Exit polling suggests 410 seats for Labour and only 130 for the Tories, which “would be the worst defeat for the Conservatives in the nearly 200-year history of the party”

He died half way through the third movie before the Empire was defeated. Famously his health didn't allow him to be there and finish the job.

An aspiring dictator & convicted felon w history of treason may win the presidency. Profoundly corrupt SCOTUS justices undermined the constitution and gave him immunity from prosecution for past & future crimes. This is all political journalists should be writing about 24/7. What I favor: Biden should make a statement in the East Room with Harris. He should say "I'm withdrawing from the race because I'm not certain I can serve a full 4 year term. I'm endorsing Harris and telling all my delegates to vote for her. She will continue my administration's policies."

Correct. It may or may not be wise for Biden to withdraw. But for the record, hypothetical match-ups are not good evidence of how well different candidates will actually perform. Popularity can change a lot in either direction when someone becomes a candidate for president.

Case in point: the long timeline of Hillary Clinton's approval polling. Favorability dropped when she became a candidate for senate, rebounded when she was SecState and not a candidate, dropped when she ran for President. news.gallup.com/poll/224330/...

One thing you can't say about the 6 justice majority is that they can't imagine or think a hypothetical parade of horribles won't happen. That's not this case. The wolf is at the door. The litigant in this case is the person who already was president, attempted a coup and is a career criminal.

The Ford pardon of Nixon would have been totally unnecessary. A million other actions and arguments in American history assume presidents aren't immune. It's a totally new idea, nowhere in text or American tradition. Arguably the least originalist major SCOTUS decision in American history.

under the opinion in trump v. united states there was no need for john yoo to come up with an elaborate justification for torture. george w. bush could have ordered an interrogator to crush the testicles of a child, no questions asked.
