I liked the explanation that said a taco WATCH would mean all the ingredients to make a taco are present and a taco WARNING means tacos have been made, but this one is more distinct (and doesn't make me want tacos)

If you want access to free books, please get a library card. In the US, the more people there are with library cards, the more funding libraries have access to. Libraries provide more than books. They are a community resource. As an author and reader, I support libraries! #books #libraries

Lost in the ongoing Trumpapalooza is the excellent news that a malaria vaccination developed at Oxford Univ. over the last 30 years and costing only £3 per shot is being unrolled in malaria-prone countries. If it fulfills its promise, this will make an enormous difference to so many lives.

Chillin at my friend's house in Seattle and she has this great playlist going and there was Arc de Soleil and Massive Attack and I said if this were my playlist the next song would be Portishead, and the next song was Portishead. I said "then Tricky" and Tricky was 3 songs later.

I think it's mostly a case of the left-ward part of the party being aware of the stakes here, while the centrist grouping still seems to think of this as any other election they can game for positioning and better headlines.

Reps. Ilhan Omar, Cori Bush and AOC have all put out "Biden is the nominee, support him" statements. The left-most part of the Democratic Party fighting to keep him while the right-most part—centrists, swing district Reps, NeverTrumpers, etc.—push for him to drop out was not on many Bingo cards.

As a side note, this is John McEntee, Trump's Director of White House Personnel and the primary architect of Project 2025. On Tik Tok he said he gives counterfeit bills to homeless people so they will be arrested when they go to spend them.

There's someone sitting behind me at the gate with a voice like Sam Elliott. He's talking on the phone narrating the escapades of two kids playing in the opposite gate area, and it is utterly unnewsworthy but also delightful.
