Posobiec set off fashy alarm bells for me back in 2017 when he was just a baby MAGA influencer with 50k followers. Now he has 2.5 million followers.

Jack Posobiec is a very influential MAGA media figure. He posted this today. In the 1930s Fr. Denis Fahey was probably most well know for being one of the most outspoken anti-semites in the world...quite an accomplishment for that era.

Trejo is an example of the sort of Identity Evropa, blood and soil nationalists that are involved with this RNR group. Last I saw, Trejo also held an official position with his county-level GOP organization.

As @noturtlesoup17.bsky.social has previously reported (with more coming soon), this Republicans for National Renewal organization has been a happy home for some quite fashy, "blood and soil" types of young Republicans.

Here we see a right wing Twitter account with 1.3 million followers being retweeted by an account with 2.5 million followers calling for conservatives to sabotage the upcoming American election. Musk, BTW, has interacted amicably with these accounts several times.

Yet again, we see the loudest yelps of “1776 BAYBEE!!!” from Christian Patriots who don’t know the first fucking thing about the history of the country over which they claim to have exclusive ownership. 2 out of 8 ain’t bad, I guess.

Left: In 1965-6 a John Bircher front group calling themselves "United Republicans of Oregon" tried to stage a hostile takeover of the moderate/centrist OR GOP. Right: In 2024 the official FB account of the OR GOP posts a 1966 John Birch Society video saying we're a republic not a democracy.
Avatar
Their featured speaker at that 1966 event was from the Liberty Lobby. That organization was run by a neo-Nazi named Willis Carto, who about 10 years later would found the nation's leading outlet for Holocaust denial called the Institute for Historical Review.

Some radical left professors are saying today's Republican Party is the genealogical descendant of the John Birch Society. Oregon Republican Party: HOLD OUR BEER!
And also, here’s a video the John Birch Society made in the 1960s featuring career right wing charlatan G. Edward Griffin to express our opinions about American politics.

The Oregon GOP is like “can you believe the crazy shit people believed at the beginning of that pandemic that killed over a million Americans” and also “the World Economic Forum worked with the Chinese to steal the 2020 election from Trump and they’re going to engineer another hoax this October.”

It would not be an overstatement to say that Rufo's assistant is a devotee of what we might call "uncritical race theory." For context, Steve Sailer is one of the leading voices in the far right, pseudo-scientific "race realist" community.

It took 3 days to go from a Rufo appearance on Tucker to the OMB drawing up a memo announcing a full-scale admin attack on the boogeyman the previously obscure Rufo had conjured up. This is how the Trump admin ran: angry know-nothing bloviates on Fox --> [3 days later] top priority WH agenda item.
Avatar
Six months after Rufo's big break courtesy of Russ Vought, he was bragging on Twitter about how his propaganda campaign was intended to work.

Huss was all in. He attended a seminar on High Frontier in 1987.

In April 2022 when Mike Flynn's Reawaken America tour came to Salem, this is how the Christian Nationalist chair of our local school board described what was happening. Just "church stuff" being attacked by Antifa. Her husband (a 3% militia member) was at that time the chair of the county GOP.

Here he explains his lifelong, fascistic obsession with/hatred of Jews. "They commit the act, I simply stated the fact. If they would abide by the Judeo ethic, people wouldn't hate them so much. They force themselves upon you & take over as much as they can. They bring on their own persecution."

History will recall that the New York Times, that bastion of "the liberal media," on July 4, 2024 chose to give prime space on their op-ed page to a theocratic absolutist who argued that people shouldn't vote, even though he himself has voted in the last 2 elections (but nowhere is that mentioned).
When I first saw this I thought "no, that can't possibly be true." But alas, the Times did indeed choose today of all days to publish a right winger's recycled piece about how they don't vote, failing to mention that the author basically thinks absolutist theocracies are cool.

Also, Lyn Nofziger, the future Reagan aide who was put in charge of using the government to go after Nixon's enemies, cut his political teeth in 1946 by trying to get one of his high school teachers fired because she was supposedly a red. North Hollywood Valley Times, 17 October 1946.

On this July 4th, let's celebrate people like Blanche Bettington and give a big Bronx cheer to tyrannical fools like Lyn Nofziger. Los Angeles Times, 13 September 1993.

For no reason at all I've found myself thinking about John Dean's August 16, 1971 Nixon administration memorandum entitled “DEALING WITH OUR POLITICAL ENEMIES." Presumably such memos have now been deemed totally legal and cool by the Supreme Court.
