There actually is the German term "Halbwissen" ("half-knowledge") that describes what those people have. Often "gefährliches Halbwissen" ("dangerous half-knowledge") is used to describe someone making a bad decisision based on this level of being informed

The fact they're simultaneously running don't vote campaigns and trying to undermine the dem candidate is proof that the moneybags who own these publications are united in realizing their robber baron days are drawing to a close under a guy who is the most pro labour president of the 21st century

LLMs are useless for lawyering and other tasks involving actual analysis and understanding not because the technology hasn't gotten there yet, but because that's fundamentally not what statistical word association is capable of doing. GenX has given us Ted Cruz and Tom Cotton and Marjorie Taylor Greene, none of whom are balanced out by, say, Cory Booker, so, yes. Also, while we're on the subject, the general mold of the Tech Bro was crafted in the first Internet Bubble of the late 90s, so that's pretty much on us too. Sorry.

As someone born "smack in the middle" of the Generation X cohort, we can't even admit to ourselves how terrible we are as a group. Like how at least half of us were die hard Reaganites before we could even vote. Where the US (and the world) is today is as much on us as it is on Baby Boomers.
