Requested a ride and then, because 50% of Lyfts and Ubers these days are Teslas, almost mistook the wrong guy in a Tesla for my driver. He wasn’t happy about it.
Sorry dude, didn’t realize you were just a douchebag.
I hadn’t seen that.
Batteries can be very dangerous in many ways. I’ve seen an 8D deep cell marine batteryexplode, almost killing my friend.
On another note, I imagine that as new battery technology is integrated, most of these old vehicles (including Teslas) are going to the scrapyard.
I realize that we need to stop burning fossil fuels, but batteries are a waste problem. The solution is reliable, cheap public transpo. These batteries often take more than 24hrs to put out once they start on fire, too. You're getting a huge bill from the city for that. Also, batteries are heavy.
Here in Florida, unlike Va. where I grew up, no vehicle is subject to an annual safety inspection, nor an emissions test. The hulking, modified trucks are insanely dangerous to everyone and the environment, & a significant portion of cars on the road look like they spend nights in the junk yard.
Yeah. I think folks live there bc they like that kind of governmental neglect? Like, they want to know when my last period was, but they don't their roads to be safe? It baffles me. But hey, I lived with Scott Walker as Governor for a long time. 🤪
Just an fyi- Apparently there are exit pulls near the inside handles of Teslas. A lady’s grandkid got locked in dead car Az./NM? a few weeks ago and it was quite dire. I would suggest that any Tesla owner know how to escape the vehicle should it brick while they are inside.
Surprised it's not mandatory to put the manual release on the same handle you use for opening it normally.
In an emergency, you're not equipped to problem solve or remember a special process you don't practice often. Like putting pushbars on emergency exits.
One of the door releases on 1 tesla model, you have to remove the speaker in the door to get to the emergency release. Tesla are death traps. The NTSB has been extremely lax in their oversight of tesla, IMHO.
The az story, the grandkid was strapped into her car seat so both couldn’t have reached the panel you have to take off to open the door AND wasn’t old enough to follow those instructions anyway
