I think to do anything else would be irresponsible honestly. That being said, NASA has done a very poor job communicating with the public on this one, hence the “stranded” stories

I still think this and I try to keep it in mind even while 80% of my feed is people expressing outrage and vitriol at anyone who isn’t wholeheartedly promoting some specific opinion about the best path forward for the world
I really do believe that most people are basically good, mean well, and want to have a positive impact on the world

Haha I do!! It’s basically pure glitter and I hate it, but it looks ok on camera

I’m so glad!!! This has been badly reported by so many outlets that don’t have space reporters, so I just wanted to clear it up

I remember this game from when my mom was in the hospital. Thinking of you.

Mark. Fucking. Cavendish. What an amazing thing. (Cav beat the record for most stage wins at the Tour de France today).

Thank you!!! When I'm ready to hire, I will absolutely post about it on here

Thank you!!! I may take you up on that in the coming months—part of the problem right now is that there isn’t really enough time between when I write and publish for an external editor (something I need to work on, I have so many process improvements to make)

If you've been wondering what the hell is going on with Boeing Starliner, and whether these astronauts are actually stranded at the ISS, I'm doing a deep dive into it for my video/newsletter this week (5 year old permitting, because poor guy is home sick)
Avatar
Oh that's great advice, thank you! And yeah, following a news cycle really means I unfortunately can't wait until I have fresh eyes to look at things.
Avatar
That's exactly my problem

When I finally am making enough off Ad Astra to hire someone, the first thing I will do is hire a proofreader/editor for my newsletter because the number of typos is frankly embarrassing but I'm also shit at self-editing

I mean, I'm currently the high bidder on this and I LOVE a great bargain and would DELIGHT in talking to Preeti but also... You guys are gonna let me get away with this? Really??? @romancingthevote.bsky.social
Talk to me about comics (or anything really lol) *and* support voting rights organizations!

If you talk to @runwithskizzers.bsky.social you have to tell her you like cycling, and she’ll be like oh no another one

The bottom line is that Starliner does Have problems but in the service module, which doesn’t return to Earth. The vehicle is safe for re-entry.

I’m not sure why autocorrect capitalized the H here but I’m just going with it

well that's reassuring
NASA:“There are no new issues to report today…the vehicle at Station is in good shape. I want to make it clear that Butch and Suni are not stranded in space." They are continuing to gather data, but there are no new issues with Starliner, and they will be returning home on that spacecraft. 🛰️

Yeah in this case I really do understand, they need this info for certification. My frustration has mostly been with the lack of communication
