Biden ending his campaign is one thing; Biden *resigning* would mean:
a) endless GOP House "investigations" on Kamala Harris "covering up" Biden's mental state;
b) the GOP House and broken Senate both have to confirm the new VP, they won't, and GOP will blame Dems.
It's simply not a viable plan.

Some conversations used against him took place while he was president, so Trump's attorneys will argue those conversations are now inadmissible. A cynical person might conclude the SCOTUS decision was carefully crafted to inflict the maximum feasible chaos on *all* of Trump's criminal cases.
There is precedent. 'President Donald Trump commended the U.S. Marshals for shooting Reinoehl, describing it as "retribution", and claiming to have personally "sent in" the U.S. Marshals to "get" Reinoehl during the first presidential debate with Joe Biden.'
This actually happened. For real.
Trump wanted this guy killed and federal marshals mercilessly shot him dead in the street very shortly thereafter.
And, bragged in a debate.
I don’t think it’s an exaggeration at all to say the decision threatens the Republic. I might not have said so in 2015, before I saw how triumphantly lawless and autocratic the President could be, and how so many people would applaud it or at least shrug.

Guys. I am not a quant person but even I know that pushing a sub sample of a larger phone poll from early in June with a 0.8% response rate, where no one who ignores unlabeled numbers on their cellphone responded, tells you nothing about the electorate. Stop letting bad polls drive your politics.
It’s the way people *refuse* to actually voice why they’re quite certain Kamala is a non-starter that really gets me. I know why I’m not a fan, former prosecutor-reliable centrist (derogatory)-convoluted and ultimately useless economic policy, but that’s a *lot* of people’s whole jam, until now.
