Glanced at twitter to see on Xmas morning sick adults gleefully posting abuse videos of 'naughty' kids getting a brick on Xmas I DON'T KNOW WHO NEEDS TO HEAR THIS BUT A CHILD YOUNG ENOUGH TO BELIEVE IN SANTA IS NOT CAPABLE OF ACTUALLY BEING BAD This is just so sick and shitty
Avatar
Yes yes yes I know wee ones can do 'bad' things and know they shouldn't But they're also incapable of many things, such as emotional control That's why uh PARENTING
Avatar
I think more parents need to understand that a young child being "bad" is frequently a reflection of their parenting.
Avatar
Nothing makes for a confident adult like a childhood of public humiliation from their parents!

That's AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRHH sorry. That's right, yup.

By definition anyone below "the age of reason" isn't capable of culpable miscreance.

People still talk about Cliff Huxtable as a positive parental model and seem to willingly forget when he told his son "I brought you into this world and I'll take you out" over a bad grade. And seasons later when Theo was diagnosed with dyslexia there was no apology over how his parents treated him.

Bill Cosby is a monster, but the Cosby Show was a lot more messed up than people remember. And for a generation it was held up as the model of family dynamics. (Well, by people who looked for parenting models in commercial television.)
Avatar
this is the first year I've seen vids like that and the comments of other adults cheering them on and being like yep that's good parenting they have to learn is just..... disgusting.
Avatar
jimmy kimmel has sucked a lot over the years but encouraging parents to prank their kids who have absolute and unearned trust in them is pure evil
Avatar
Why would you want to start your day with conflict, upset, and crying?
Avatar
Some people love to traumatize small children apparently
Avatar
Isn't Kimmel the one that also encourages you to tell your kids you ate their Halloween candy? Is he doing Christmas now, too? Does he just hate children?
Avatar
I don't know what he's doing now but he had a "terrible present" challenge too yeah, and started with the halloween one.. just human garbage
Avatar
He’s a prime enabler of the worse humanity has to offer.
Avatar
It takes a special kind of sociopathy to make one’s children sad on purpose and think it’s funny.
Avatar
‘Treat your kids like shit for clout’ is one of Jesus’ lesser known teachings.
Avatar
And, to do it for “likes” ffs. 🙄
Avatar
Isn’t there some absolutely hilarious *joke* where parents tell their kids all their Halloween candy is gone and they film it?
Avatar
Therapists will have no shortage of clients.
Avatar
Avatar
Sounds like a Jimmy Kimmel Halloween candy theft prank 🙄
Avatar
I hope the kids look at the brick they just unwrapped and realize that these assholes just handed them a weapon.
Avatar
Not usually one to condone violence, but, yes, those kids should break their parents' faces
Avatar
Avatar
They prolly got socks too… Jes sayin’.
Avatar
Everyone needs to ask themselves: As adults do I want my kids to be obedient or pro-social? Because those aren't the same thing.
Avatar
I wanted my kids to be pro-social, so I taught them to be kind to others and to think about how their mistakes affected other people. Not Santa, the people they actually interact with.
Avatar
"Obedient women rarely make history." "It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a sick society." "Human salvation lies in the hands of the creatively maladjusted." Onwards and sideways, comrade 💓
Avatar
That's just so awful. I posted yesterday about how Christmas always reminds me of how I was told that crying was a sin, and Jesus never sinned, so that meant as a baby he never cried. Messed me up as a kid. Thinking Santa gave me a brick would have hit pretty hard, if we'd been a Santa family.
Avatar
Jesus ran away from his mum and dad in a crowded market and they didn't find him for SEVERAL DAYS. And when they found the wee fucker he was sat debating Torah as if nothing was wrong!
Avatar
And they had to have thought he was dead
Avatar
And for Christmas that year, Jesus got a brick, and it was posted to his parent's joint Facebook account.
Avatar
My mum did NOT like it when I pointed out as a kid that Jesus farted. 💩💨 If he didn't, his digestive system wasn't working properly. 🤷🏻‍♀️
Avatar
He was both fully God and fully man. So undeniably yeah, he farded.
Avatar
Isn’t that part of the reason why some cribs (eg in Spain) include a Caganer? Partly to represent the human elements?

Avatar
I've heard about that tradition! Child me would have been gleeful if I'd known 😆
Avatar
I grew up around people who believed crying was a sin. Assholes 😤 Adult me would love to go back in time and tell them that a baby that doesn't cry is a traumatized baby, and not a good sign.
Avatar
That's a new level of fucked man. So totally out there I'd never have thought anyone had done that unless you said it. I'm so sorry and I hope you're doing ok.
Avatar
Eh, not religious now. Wonder why...
Avatar
And people wonder why we're pissed about it and then cry persecution. Shitbag Christianity is DARVO central.
Avatar
I saw someone on the other site asking whether it was okay for a kid to get nothing on Christmas if they've been bad all year. Amid all the responses from other asshole adults cheering the idea on, somebody asked, "If your kids have been 'bad' all year, why hasn't your parenting changed all year?"
Avatar
This! If the little kids are "bad", it's because the parenting has been bad. Making a video demonstrating your poor parenting skills and posting it on social media for likes and subscribes is next level lack of self-awareness.
A generation interested only in entertaining itself?
Avatar
I think that’s a skewering description. So precise and so accurate.
No, we've always had these assholes.
Just with a broader reach now? Makes sense.
Avatar
This whole trend of abusing your children for views infuriates me. Already sketchy enough to profit off your kids with social media in general...
Avatar
kids can be little shits sometimes but this is not remotely the way to approach it especially gleefully sharing it for clout? awful behavior, and you wonder where the kids get it from
