2025, Rod Dreher triumphantly repatriates to America, the woke menace defeated. Stephen Miller’s immigration regime mistakes him for a Hungarian and denies him entry because persecution on the basis of sexuality is no longer a valid grounds for asylum.

When I was taken to Sunday School all they would talk about is Jesus being peaceful and kind and how we had to be like Jesus, and also feed the poor. Meanwhile the Baptist kids were getting into the wild doing of Old Testament kingdoms with names that sounded like they came out of Doctor Who.
Also "Ziklag"? I know it's a town in the Bible but it sounds like a place where Daleks go to get their lasers recharged or something.

I’m going to lose my mind.

Hilarious: the deranged X/Twitter website abruptly reinstated my old account after I half in jest tried something I thought had been posted as a joke: I appealed by saying that I was "reported by some woke person for expressing my right-wing views". It was like I'd found the Easter Egg.

An interesting fact about the tech industry is that its ruling culture is vindictive and genuinely insane, just stupid people generating paranoid fantasies to avoid understanding anything about themselves and what they’ve done

A signal boost would be a colossal help! Right now my novel BEDFELLOW is on sale for $1.99 on Kindle. I have no idea how long the sale will last. a.co/d/0i53afDu

The “Joe Biden is a good man who has served his country nobly and should step aside” thing isnt working, they gotta get some Democratic rep to say “Joe Biden must step down because his presidency has been real ass”

This bong was thrown out a window at one o'clock this morning. I presume someone was really upset with how their Elden Ring all-nighter was going.

Imagine being surprised that if you want to hire the President, Publisher, and CEO of DC comics to personally draw you a bespoke original piece of art, it would be prohibitively expensive.
People were hashtaggin’ Jim Lee to the point I thought the dude passed, but it turns out he’s just charging 20k for commissions, which if you’ve been in the game since the early 80’s and was the head of two different publishers in that run, you’re fine charging that.

This is what I want from social media. Not photos of people's fancy dinners and expensive vacations - I want amusing grocery store items, weird bugs you saw, dogs you met, a cool tree, a rock you found that is shaped like a lighthouse, etc.

Anonymous sources are not anonymous to the reporter, they are people known to the reporter who agrees to conceal their identity to shield them from the consequences of acting as their source
ok i have another quote tweet prompt. what's something, big or small, related to your job or hobby, that most people don't know that you would like to have them know? it can be a concept, a piece of history, some vocabulary, or something else.

Almost every bright idea about fixing publishing someone is trying to sell you will serve to vaporize 90% of it.

Dire that a legend like Cox can't get studios to fund his movies, though even less surprising than the other legends going through the same thing, if you watch Cox's (amazingly reckless) 1987 flop WALKER, a surreal, gonzo historical satire that burns with contempt for the US imperialist project.

I was looking for an old photo, which I couldn't find, but stumbled across this picture of me giving my first ever cat some ice cream. Photo ca. 1979. I, very creatively, named the cat "Red Cat." (cc: @catsofyore.bsky.social)

Miller devised it as homage to John Martin’s “Destruction of Pompeii and Herculaneum”! Martin was the blockbuster spectacle guy of the early 1800s

A psychiatrist could make a career out of books about these peoples' fantasy version of Trump compared to the half-asleep, incoherent, ancient sack of fluid he actually is. It's pathetic but more importantly it's also extremely weird and alarming.

the funny errors were the only good thing about it
Google appears to have rolled back its new AI Overviews — a generative AI feature — after the technology produced a litany of untruths and errors, including recommending glue as part of a pizza recipe and suggesting that people ingest rocks for nutrients.
