RESULT: Aurélien Rousseau wins as left candidate. He is Macron's former health minister who resigned in protest in December, after Macron adopted an anti-immigration law with support of far-right MPs. Macron reportedly maneuvered to defeat him this week (as I posted earlier this week).

Ok, time to watch Shakespeare's adaption of "Forbidden Planet", where he turns it into some fantasy thing with wizards and fairies. Wish people would do more original stuff, not just remaking classics.

I posted this on Twitter and several strangers have pointed out that there are authors more obscure than Neil Gaiman, if you're wondering about the state of the brain drain over there.
I suppose that in the future when someone asks on social media for underrated/obscure fantasy novels, no brightchild will ever respond "Ooh ooh anything by Neil Gaiman!" again.

They confirmed that they believe?
White House officials have confirmed that they believe a Russian satellite named Cosmos 2553 is designed to test components of an “anti-satellite capability,” which could cripple orbital technology, potentially by a nuclear detonation in space.

Google’s emissions are up 48% in 5 years. Microsoft’s are up 30% since 2020. Those soaring figures are being driven by mass investments in data centers to power AI tools. Generative AI is a climate disaster and data center expansion must be stopped.

Instead of pretending that Biden just had a cold or was jet lagged the Dem spin-doctors should say, "Yep. We have to flick pennies at his forehead to get his attention. Still a better option that the other guy. You want small government, swing voters? He's a 4hr a day President."

Once again, in case you’re wondering why Gen Xers are “like this,” watch any Disney movie between Walt’s death & The Little Mermaid, the shit we were raised on. Tried to rewatch The Rescuers last night and it is utterly Bananapants that a single soul thought this was acceptable kids’ fare

Apparently the government of the Yucatán recently erected a Poseidon statue on one of their major beaches. It’s a very heavily Mayan area, where people still pray to Chaac, the god of rainfall. They’re now being slammed with 3 hurricanes and significant flooding, leading to memes like this
