Wireless phones that can connect to multiple devices are fab EXCEPT when you’re in the middle of a work call & your toddler in the other room starts playing on the iPad so you have to spend the rest of the call listening to the shortest loop of annoying cheery music until you can change the settings

Libraries are one of the most radical social institutions we have, because they’re based on the idea that *everyone* has the right to information, for free. It’s also what makes them crucial to democracy. I will never stop yelling about this!

This really works; delete the gobbledegook after your search term (in my e.g. this is q=recipe+for+bread) and add &udm=14 and all the top tips, AI summaries, 'also searched for' and video (1st image) vanishes. You just get actual search results (2nd image).

This is so important and valuable. A way to get "Google search without the crap." Notably AI crap, which destroys G-search utility. Intro'd here: tedium.co/2024/05/17/g... In practice: After a Google search, click on "Web." You'll get the de-crapped results.

How I Made Google’s “Web” View My Default Searchtedium.co Forget AI. Google just created a version of its search engine free of the extra junk it has added over the past decade-plus. You just need one URL parameter.
