The indictment makes clear that Donald Trump and his accomplices planned to seize power by force and then maintain that power through the mass murder of American citizens by their own military
Trump will go to the ends of the earth saying he really, truly believes he was robbed of an election. And I’m sure he yells at anyone that listens- ‘it’s not a crime when I believe it!’
I literally sat at my desk that afternoon and evening wo dering if the Republic would see the next day. Was so relieved when they ratified the results around 4 the next morning. Best 2 hours of sleep I ever got after that. Why is this so hard to see for some?
Thanks. I was thinking that but maybe mass murder of civilians is a rhetorical stretch? If the military occupied my town I’d sit real tight and hope for the best 😬
Declaring military rule isn’t like when you misbehaved in high school and went to detention. “Laying low” is not an option in a war zone. See: Ukraine right now, Paris in 1944, Afghanistan from 2002-2021.
At a minimum, they would brutally arrest protesters and charge journalists and dissenters with crimes against the state. But given his spoken desire to declare martial law, he clearly wanted to foment violence in the streets, hence encouraging proud boys and other J6 vigilantes.
in 2020 there had been escalating force against protesters by police and vigilantes causing many injuries and deaths. this culminated on live tv when police tear-gassed sitting peaceful protesters in dc. they had been priming the public to get ready for people to get shot in the street for a year
