Texas using the power of the state to force a pregnant woman to take on considerable health risks—hospitalized multiple times, may have more trouble getting pregnant again—to bring a nonviable fetus to term is incredibly cruel, and shows the effort to be about control, not life.

So, I’ve been seeing that many infosec jobs are seeing applicants that consider years of experience as years of work in general, be it in infosec, or IT in general (either technical/non-technical roles) The mentality is that they’re just rungs on a single career ladder, ignoring specializations.

Fun fact: NYC had a law like this passed in the late 19th century when masked renters started burning crops owned by their landlords. It was later used to prosecute crossdressing and, in 2011, Occupy protesters. It was repealed in 2020 to make way for COVID mask mandates.
