I'd say this is a realistic concern, as car styling is intensely memeish, which is why about 98% of them look absolutely stupid now (and with Craptruck dna mixed in, plenty room to get even worse).

Sure, #notAllMarques. There's a tiny sliver of the car market whose industrial design is restrained enough to not work like an acid eyewash—but most go wherever the wind blows.

Car styling is, as I said, intensely memetic, like all fashion. Of course, in theory, features are supposed to trickle down from market leaders,but these days all mindshare is supposedly valid, so cars may imitate the idiot
