germaine greer's pederastic photo project is a totemic expression of the yearning for power to exploit & control (frequently adolescent) subjects that animates anti-trans politics draped in the soft sheen of Defending Womanhood. we should not lose sight of the fact that this is, bleakly, kinda funny

a big takeaway from all of the Biden drama is that huge swathes of the public — including reasonably engaged people — think that political parties are a small cabal of elites who select candidates by hand

It boggles my mind that the only national newspaper opinion columnist to say the truth about the president's complicity in the intentional and criminal starvation of over a million people is fucking Nicholas Kristof.

This resolution was not initiated by the Netanyahu coalition but instead by the right wing of the opposition in the Knesset, by the way. For those who think getting Netanyahu out will solve the central problem of Israeli rejectionisism.

BLP was an inspiration in getting me to write for the anthology. Mostly because I read his story about a short Elemental with a napoleon complex that was in Shrapnel #1 and thought "This sucks, I could write better than this!"

something that isn't as common knowledge as I thought: The US arms industry is specifically designed as a system of control and entanglement, a working example of the liberal idea that countries will not go to war with their trade partners. NATO standard is is a market system.

all of the talk about biden's candidacy is very frustrating because every article seems to be "everyone should agree he's gotta go, ?????, win election." it's hard to tell if this is a good or bad idea without knowing how you want to do it. what's the plan here folks?

The sad truth is that there will likely never be justice wielded against the men and state that kidnapped Dr. Abu Salmiya and tortured him for seven months. Abu Salmiya was a hostage, but the New York Times will never use that word, nor will any US government official. One has to wonder why that is.

"that a bunch of smart, well-meaning people will simply get together in a big room and agree on a candidate was particularly, grimly comic coming from an editorial board that...threw up its hands and offering a none-for-the-price-of-two bifurcated endorsement of Elizabeth Warren and Amy Klobuchar."
I am not personally surprised to find it's the progressives holding the line for Biden while the centrists that ostensibly make up his honor guard all abandon him after the first skirmish. To wit, by @tomscocca.bsky.social: www.indignity.net/who-elected-...
