Gonna head out myself this morning for the same reasons. I cannot do a dawn walk though, I need my 8 hours.

Anyone else walk 5+ miles between 3 and 6 AM because it’ll be too damb hot outside to walk that much beginning after 11 AM?

The great streaming appeasement of 2020 brought me back to physical media with music, TV ,and movies. We don't control the content even when we buy it digitally. Them taking an episode of Community and Golden Girls off was my radicalized moment

Not gonna lie, I often think about how long it took & what had to happen first before people stopped judging me for hanging onto my DVD’s I know how cult films/lack of distribution/titles going out of print works as a former video store managers. I saw many models & formats die in a very short time

As if yesterday wasn’t already weird enough, I just walked by a car blasting Ray J’s “Sexy Can I”… I’d like to quit this present game of “Life” & reload from my previous save point.

I told my smart TV to turn to the ESPYs after the Red Sox game was over & it was like “I don’t eem know what you’re talnbout, fam”

You ever gone more than a week without receiving a new CVS coupon or deal in your Gmail inbox then start getting concerned?

I used to dream about being an author one day. So much that I’d go to bookstores to see the magazines my friends wrote in and see the books they published… Now I see books I contributed to in those same bookstores I visit & it reminds me that although I’m not there yet*, I’ve started the journey.

As someone who read “Fight Club” in the bookstore on my 21st birthday, saw the film when it debuted opening night because I worked in a movie theater, I can’t believe I didn’t see that twist in the last episode of “The Boys” coming from two kilometers away…

So… I opened up Instagram and this Rakuten ad began playing featuring my cousin Dinora and Kate Hudson…

The Moped Mob on Boylston St. barely respects the sanctity of human life & the laws of physics…

OK besides this below and DEVO coming out of the Kent State massacre, what are other facts you have about the evolution of art / music /etc that wouldn't be obvious if you didn't know but, retroactively, explain and/or illuminate a LOT ?

Adidas track pants rolled up, Adidas socks & Jordans? IN BOSTON? Back in the days we called this “perpetrating”. “PERPETRATOR!” kids would yell & point. My boy Mark moved to Detroit, came back to visit in the Summer & told me folks called it “Perpin’” there and everyone wore Adidas. I was in shock.

Yep. One of the biggest blind spots people have is assuming that underneath, others share the same basic values as them. They have trouble imagining an ideology that is completely misaligned with theirs.

You know print journalism is in Hell when publications that were chasing me asking me to write something for them last Summer are ducking me like they’re Louie Dumps, the kid that owed Calogero $20 in “A Bronx Tale”…

I’m so old I just got excited watching a rookie hit for the cycle on ESPN Sunday Night Baseball…

I’m laughing watching Syd in the dumpster breaking down boxes on “The Bear” because back in the Summer of ‘98 one of my jobs was to break down hundreds of cardboard boxes from the overnight deliveries in a trailer all by myself. I’d rather do that than face baby food which is how every shift began.

Being on Northeastern’s campus while these stone structures conduct heat while the sun beats down but it feels different from every other time you’ve recently visited campus because I’m here in an official capacity as opposed to doing a one off lecture or begging the library for archival access…
