If Democrats feel that this is a core threat, then what's the political education plan? Are they turning the document into an audiobook? Are they hosting Project 2025 teach ins? Are they creating a Democratic Project 2025? Like what's actually happening in reality?

I honestly think this is a huge part of what’s driving doomerism, the base is terrified but the leadership just isn’t willing to take things seriously, and the base reacts in various unhealthy ways- usually despair or lashing out at the left

We're doing some teach ins and house meetings for college students this fall. I think putting Project 2025 on the discussion dance card is a fantastic idea.

Feels like more denial. and maybe because a lot of their donors low key support it, they are afraid to come off as “radicals” when pushing back.

How influential is the Heritage Foundation? And has Trump mentioned Project 2025?

It is the most influential Republican think tank and has been since the Reagan era and is full of people who will be staffing the Trump administration.

I knew about Paul Weyrich and his famous "you know, democracy ain't so great for our cause" line. I thought they were more fringe than they apparently are. Of course the GOP is all-fringe now, shoulda known they would be top influencers.

I think even the Oliver piece doesn’t quite put 2 and 2 together to spell out the threat. Saying “they’ll replace everyone in government with loyalists” doesn’t sound good, but it needs to be paired with the fact many of Trump’s former staff openly say he regularly demanded to have people killed.

There’s always this cycle of “it’s okay that he’s unhinged because his people won’t let him do the worst stuff and he’s probably kidding anyway” even though his own people make clear he’s very much not kidding. If P2025 boils down to “let Trump be Trump” it’s worse than people are willing to imagine

I haven't read it and I arguably should have for my job. The two main points I've picked up on are a plan to replace massive numbers of nonpartisan civil servants with partisans, one application of which will be to direct the FDA to make both abortion and gender transition illegal at any age.
