I'm not going to blame the media, it's fair to do so, but really, FDR and AMLO had a much more hostile media and they were both extremely popular. FDR and AMLO set the narrative by addressing the people directly. FDR had his fireside chats and AMLO gave 3 hour presentations on YouTube daily.
