Sometimes I’m like “oh my god I’m *literally* Cristina from Greys, I went from the west coast to a research position in Europe” and then I’m like “however I was not offered this job by my ex fiancé who left me at the altar so I’m really not”

I know this is a hot take as a scientist but I think using data as a plural noun always sounds unnatural and primarily functions as a shibboleth for scientists to maintain an in-group linguistic identity (and, implicitly, superiority)

Not the most terrifying thing but perhaps the most infuriating: every single thing we said about these fascist Republican fucks has been proved out and all the people who assured us that what is happening would never happen smoothly pivoted to yes it's happening but it will be fine.

That part isn't the disinfo part. It's the chaos and rumormongering that is going to be used to get Mike fucking Johnson etc. into power once they push Kamala Harris out of the line of succession. It's also being used to distract everyone from mounting a coordinated response to the Supreme Court
