So, one positive thing about Harris is that she has a solid record on trans rights that goes beyond pithy statements. In her role as DA in San Francisco, she worked to abolish the gay and trans panic defense. As AG, she made it happen in California in 2014. The state was the first to ban it.

It's called "misogynoir" for a reason. It's going to focus on sexually objectifying & dehumanizing her at every turn. If that's new to you, I am going to gently suggest you read up on it because it is not at all new. Or just remember how Michelle Obama was treated.

I keep up more than I should on how perverse and odious conservative politics are, but I am absolutely ready to be wowed by the extent to which contemporary conservatives are unable to be normal where women are involved. They are also going to be very racist, of course, but they are not up to this.

This. A prime example that you can easily see here is asking people to include alt text (and I’m not talking about those who have their own needs that can’t write alt text). It’s such a walking on eggshells thing. It only takes a few extra minutes to do & yet it offends so many to even be asked.

Fuck I’m tired of ableism. I’m tired of calling it out, I’m tired of having to tread carefully when calling it out lest *the community* be discredited by my comments, I’m tired of the world literally not being constructed for people with physical differences, systemic ableism- I’m just tired.
